WHO WE ARE.

BCCAR provides its REALTOR® members with an array of real estate-related programs, products and services, including professional development, legislative advocacy, and business enhancers. Additionally, BCCAR regularly responds to queries from the general public and promotes use of Association members in facilitating the transfer of real property.

As with the entire REALTOR® Association, BCCAR does not enforce real estate law or issue real estate licenses, its mechanism for ensuring fairness and integrity in real estate transactions is the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.

BCCAR members also maintain membership in the New Jersey Association of REALTORS® and the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®.

BCCAR - Just A Phone Call Away

The REALTOR® Resource Center is open and representatives are standing by to help you with your most challenging questions.

Located in the heart of the Association's offices, the Resource Center is your one-stop source for industry information, membership information, electronic lockbox system access, event registration, and marketing supplies.

Within the Resource Center, BCCAR maintains its very own warehouse of real estate supplies. Members can purchase anything from sign riders and brochure boxes to PC software and calculators. Visit our online BCCAR STORE for more information on these and other products.

The Resource Center staff also fields several hundred calls each month from members and the general public seeking specialized information. In turn, staff conducts the necessary research to provide the caller with the proper information, or refers him to the appropriate source.

So whether you need information about your membership, would like to order supplies, have a pressing question about the Code of Ethics, or for just about any other reason, you can call ONE number, 856-428-1013. The Resource Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Information at Your Fingertips

BCCAR understands the importance of strong lines of communication between the Association and its members. Through your membership, you receive several communications pieces from your local, state, and national associations. KeyFacts (weekly EMAIL), the Home Sales Report, and an Annual Membership Directory. The New Jersey Association of REALTORS® publishes the New Jersey REALTOR® and the National Association of REALTORS® publishes a monthly magazine, REALTOR®. All three associations produce other forms of communication including surveys, research studies and reports.

BCCAR's website provides basic information that members will find useful: membership information, including an on-line application for membership; a calendar of events, with the ability to register for programs on-line; a REALTOR® and affiliate office directory; a listing of Association leadership with links to their e-mail addresses; and links to industry-related websites, including that of the National Association of REALTORS®. There is also a section of the site designed specifically for Brokers and Managers with up-to-the-minute information to keep them apprised of important industry news

The site will evolve to incorporate more information as the needs and technology change. The Association's various publications are available on-line, including the membership newsletter, weekly fax, and monthly home sales statistics for Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Mercer & Salem counties.

The site also includes information for REALTORS® to use when working with buyers and sellers including school reports and community profile information.

REALTOR.COM and One REALTOR Place... REALTOR.COM is the Association's Internet site, and it features two distinct sections to meet your business needs. Part of the site is public "accessible by anyone" and offers property ads, home buying and selling tips, real estate news, information about using a REALTOR® and more. REALTOR.COM (www.REALTOR.COM) is the most widely used real estate site on the Internet, with millions of hits to the property listings each month. And the number of properties advertised is constantly growing and listings placed at the Greater New Jersey Regional MLS are advertised at no cost!

There's also a private section of the site called One REALTOR® Place - a member-only site that has been developed exclusively to give REALTORS® the key tools and resources they need. One REALTOR® Place provides you with direct, immediate access to information from NAR, BCCAR and NJAR, NAR's affiliate organizations, and other sources. From legal and legislative reference and updates, to discussion groups, to daily real estate news, to helpful product information, the resources make your day-to-day business activities easier and more successful.

To gain access to One REALTOR® Place, you'll need your NAR-assigned member identification number. You'll find your ID number directly above your name on the mailing label of your issue of REALTOR® magazine.

Information Service

The Association's staff is available conduct specialized industry research, as appropriate, and routinely responds to industry-related queries from members and the general public.

Look to your Association for the fullest range of professional development and education options. Leadership and staff makes professional development a top priority by offering a broad selection of education forums and seminars based on REALTOR® interest in specific topics. The New Jersey Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS® offer educational opportunities at their Annual Conventions and through Special Designation Programs such as GRI (Graduate REALTOR® Institute), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), and CRB (Certified Residential Brokerage Manager).

Four times a year, BCCAR convenes a Professional Development Focus Group, comprising industry veterans and newcomers alike, to cull information and identify industry trends which may be used in designing programming initiatives.

Political Power

On behalf of REALTORS®, BCCAR has developed a Political Affairs Program to preserve the success of your business and the real estate industry as a whole. On a national level, BCCAR works with the National Association of REALTORS® and the New Jersey Association of REALTORS® and a team of professional legislative advocates who consistently monitor and progressively work on public policy to promote and protect the right to own, use, and transfer real property. Because of these efforts, REALTORS® have access to the most up-to-date political information and have an effective avenue to seek solutions to public policy problems.

Locally, BCCAR's Political Affairs Committee addresses legislative issues and works to develop solutions beneficial to the REALTOR® community. Members can participate by joining the committee, participating in calls-for-action, contributing to RPAC (REALTORS® Political Action Committee), or providing information on relevant municipal legislation.

Boost your Efficiency

Standard Forms -
Forms, sample letters, and other "boilerplates" can make your job easier. These practice aids can serve as guides to ensure that you cover every detail quickly and efficiently. Developed by experts in various areas of real estate brokerage and reviewed by legal counsel, they eliminate the need to "reinvent the wheel." A variety of standard industry forms are available for sale, including listing agreements, contracts for sale, residential lease agreements, proposal to purchase, and more! And best of all, the forms are even available "on disk" as a software package!

Mailing List Rental -
For a nominal fee, you can rent BCCAR's mailing list to get your message to real estate professionals in Southern New Jersey. Using BCCAR's mailing list is one of the most cost effective means of promoting your company to the areas top real estate professionals! Contact BCCAR for additional information and an order form.

Keybox Services -
Membership provides access to state-of-the-art equipment and service for the SUPRA Electronic Keybox system for Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Mercer, and Salem counties! Members may also use the Multacc mechanical lockbox system. Call 856-468-8224.

Connect With your Peers

In an industry where "who you know" is almost as important as "what you know," networking through BCCAR is a great way to meet and talk with seasoned industry professionals in a non-adversarial environment. Initially, you should develop a clear plan covering what you expect from your networking activities and how you're going to get it. Once you've established your goals, you can take advantage of the many networking opportunities offered by BCCAR. Volunteering for task forces, writing articles for the membership publication, attending association events and participating in educational programs are just a few of the ways you can establish strong business relationships and tap into a broader arena of resources that were once unattainable. Networking is a sales development activity. So, by joining BCCAR you've wisely invested your time and energy in a way that will produce the results you want.

Recognition Programs

REALTOR® of the Year Award -
This is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a REALTOR® by his peer group in recognition of outstanding contribution to the Association and the industry. The recipient is honored during a BCCAR event and at the New Jersey Association of REALTORS®' annual convention.

SuperStar Awards -
The Association quarterly awards recognition program, the SuperStar Awards, honors local sales agents who excel in the areas of closed listing dollar volume, sales dollar volume, listing units, and sales units.

NJAR Circle of Excellence Sales Award (formerly Million Dollar Sales Club Award) -
Presented annually in conjunction with the New Jersey Association of REALTORS®, the state-wide award recognizes outstanding listing and sales achievement by REALTORS®.

Distinguished Sales Club Award -
Presented annually in conjunction with the New Jersey Association of REALTORS®, the state-wide program recognizes members who have received the NJAR Circle of Excellence Sales Award or Million Dollar Sales Club Award for 10 or more years.

Resolve Those Ethical Dilemmas

Code of Ethics. The National Association of REALTORS® looks to its local associations to enforce the Code of Ethics. As a condition to Association membership you must pledge to observe and abide by this Code.

Complaint System. If you suspect a REALTOR® has violated the Code of Ethics you can submit a written complaint for review by the Grievance Committee. If warranted, this committee will request a hearing to be held before the Professional Standards Committee, which is responsible for upholding and enforcing the Code of Ethics and the Bylaws at the local, state and national level. In addition to ethics issues, this system allows you to arbitrate commission disputes fairly and objectively, without paying high court costs.

Public Recognition

REALTOR® trademark. The term REALTOR® sets you apart from real estate professionals who not are members of the National Association of REALTORS®. This registered trademark tells the public that you adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and its standards of professionalism, integrity, and competence.

Logos. The Association receives many calls for reference on our members, and the use of the member logo provides enhanced credibility. It is especially valuable in Yellow Book and/or Yellow Page advertising, and on your business cards.
